The Problem with the Signin is, that Jitsi uses an deep-link for redirecting you to the Desktop App after signing in. It uses the Scheme "jitsi-meet://roomname..." for sending you back to the Electron App.

Unfortunately this Package doesn't register the Mime Handler for this Schema, since in the .desktop File the following Line is missing: MimeType=x-scheme-handler/jitsi-meet;

As soon as you add this to the Package, it should work.

You can manually solve it in the meantime by registering the handler for yourself. Just type in terminal: xdg-mime default jitsi-meet-desktop.desktop x-scheme-handler/jitsi-meet

If that persists on the newly released version AND you can reproduce it by launching the .AppImage directly, you might want to ask upstream about it.

I have a problem with moderated jitsi. Whenever I use a moderator link the microphone and camera cannot be used.

This package conflicts with jitsi-meet-electron. I think it's only /usr/share/icons/hicolor/512x512/apps/jitsi-meet.png which is in both. I don't know if that file should have a -desktop suffix in this package. jitsi-meet-desktop.desktop is what makes me think that.
