Currently there's nothing we can do about it. As Deej, the original maintainer, said to me via email:

I looked into this and it looks like the upstream icedtea uses a deprecated API that doesn't work on the latest JRE.

The options are downgrade your JRE, wait until icedtea is fixed, or switch to the plain JOSM package.

I did the last of these. 😐 Hopefully the second one happens soon.

The sha256 of josm.jnlp is not correct anymore.

Use https://josm.openstreetmap.de/logo.png instead EDIT: I've taken over maintainership, it's fixed now

This package is failing to build as trunk/images/logo.png no longer exists: https://josm.openstreetmap.de/browser/trunk/images/
