As far as I can tell, JWM no longer supports a freetype-only build. You can either build with --disable-pango to support only the ancient XFree86-style fonts, or ./configure will auto-detect pango (which most people probably have installed anyway). So it might be a good idea to add pango to the depends=() list.

So it is not really a bug, but an upstream modification of configuration, which is not yet included in the stable jwm. This version works with the default jwmrc or when that is used for further tweaking. However, if someone has an old jwmrc, then the mouse actions should be explicitly added to the custom jwmrc, for example: <Mouse context="border" button="1">resize</Mouse>

As of s1643-1, window buttons and window resizing do not work.
