@graysky - Using just makepkg resulted in a build that was absent the inputstream addon so I am not sure what happened before, kodi-dev-pre-release was built as well so it was easy enough to use kodi-addon-inputstream-adaptive-git to build the addon.

18.0a1-7 uses the internal fmt so no need for the AUR dep anymore.

Just to keep it simple, please try building with makepkg and report back. You only need one dep from the AUR which is fmt.

@graysky - Honestly I am out of my depth here, I assume the kodi-inputstream-dev component pulls in https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/kodi-addon-inputstream-adaptive-git because it was present in the ?build folder which is why I looked at its PKGBUILD and swapped the comments round for the correct version, unfortunately my aur helper builds in /tmp so I can't check. I couldn't make heads nor tails out of cmake or how to build just the inputstream addon so I gave up, it took my Atom based machine 8+ hours to compile Kodi as it was.

@gottseidank - I am unfamiliar with the component packages. Is there a simple change you can see that would fix this?

gottseidank commented on 2018-03-09 15:45

I think there is an issue with the inputstream-adaptive version, the PKGBUILD for kodi-inputstream-dev has the source for Kodi 18 Leia commented out, I had symbol version errors in my kodi.log from the Youtube plugin not being able to call inputstream-adaptive.

Not out of date until 18.x-pre is released: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/releases

@nutz - Builds just fine for me... have you tried building it in a clean chroot? See clean-chroot-manger in the AUR if you're not wanting to learn or want a one-click solution.

Is anybody else having problems building this?

Since rc3 I get an error from dvdcss:
cd ...../dvdcss && "PATH=/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/opt/android-sdk/platform-tools:/usr/lib/jvm/default/bin:/opt/opencascade/bin:/usr/bin/site_perl:/usr/bin/vendor_perl:/usr/bin/core_perl:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/home/nutz/.dotfiles/git:~/.bin" autoreconf -vif

obviously this fails because of the wrong " which should go after 'PATH' -> PATH="/bin..."

thanks
