Well it has been a while since I last commented here. Not using kst on linux much these days. But I just tried the flatpak as an alternative to the AUR. Maybe that helps others seeking a solution, as it works flawlessly.

Having an issue building:

-> No AUR package found for hdf5<1.12.1
-> could not find all required packages: hdf5 <1.12.1

Package doesn't build anymore. It has issues with CMakee:

CMake Error: The following variables are used in this project, but they are set to NOTFOUND.
Please set them or make sure they are set and tested correctly in the CMake files:
lib_debug
linked by target "kst2_datasource_dirfilesource" in directory /home/steelph0enix/.cache/yay/kst-git/src/kst-plot/src/datasources
linked by target "kst2_datasource_dirfilesource" in directory /home/steelph0enix/.cache/yay/kst-git/src/kst-plot/src/datasources

This is a clean install.

Hey, could you please add 'netcdf-cxx-legacy' (AUR) to the optional dependencies:

netcdf-cxx-legacy: provides support for files in the netCDF format

Thanks!

Good work @malkut. I do not remember this building so fast ;) Did you try to reach out to Barth Netterfield? Way back when I was still using MacOS he was quite responsive when KST would not work properly... But you are right the project looks a bit abandoned. Which is a shame.

@f0rdprefect I updated the PKGBUILD adding a flag to use the old HDF5 API i am not sure how long this will be supported. It doesn't look like the KST dev team will be updating the code anytime soon

the shiboken issue is fixed, however the hdf problem is also present in manjaro...

hdf5 and hdf5-git packages provide version 1.12.0 which does not match rule hdf5<1.12.0. Is there any workaround other than adjusting hdf5-git PKGBUILD to build older version?

This is a shiboken build issue (bindings for pyside) I updated the build to use python-pyside2 so you wouldn't depend on building shiboken.

It works on my machine, let me know if it does on yours
