@bertino This appears to be related to a recent security fix in git.

I have modified the PKGBUILD in order to 'force allow' the 'file' transport when updating the submodules, as demonstrated on the Arch wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VCS_package_guidelines#Git_submodules

Does it work now?

I think something changed, as now it fails in prepare for me:
