Are any of you able to scan both sides at once on DS-720d scanners ? Hardware supports it, but it doesn't work with this driver. Thanks !

dreieck commented on 2024-01-21 12:05 (UTC)

Please install /etc/udev/rules.d/50-Brother_DSScanner.rules to another directory:
/usr/lib/udev/rules.d/50-Brother_DSScanner.rules.

Files in/etc/udev/rules.d/ are left to be created by users who want to override the defaults in /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/.

Regards and thanks for maintaining!

Went to scan some A4 sheets today and even with sg loaded and adding my DS620's usb vendor+class to /etc/sane.d/dsseries.conf I still can't get simple-scan to detect it on 6.2.7-arch1-1.

Ok... I pacman -R'd the package then -S'd it again.

Despite sg already being loaded, I created /etc/modules-load.d/sg.conf with the string sg inside just in case.

I also ran the package-recommended gpasswd -a root scanner despite me not running this as root, and my user here already being in the scanners group.

Maybe something else went haywire which a package reinstall fixed? Anyway... glad today's back on track.

Remember to load the scsi driver in order to have it discovered: modprobe sg

This is the same driver for my DS720D but sane-find-scanner does not detect it. Is there anything else to configure with this to get SANE to detect it? I use simple-scan with another scanner and it works great.

Hi,

Can we ship the file /etc/modules-load.d/sg.conf instead having to create manually ?

Thanks you for the package.

Sorry for the late modification. Don't hesitate to send me an email next time to warn me about it.

I thought I wrote this already in my other comment but I don't see it: gutting the agree.html from the package worked fine for me.

So that means:

  • Removing "http://www.brother.com/agreement/English_sane/agree.html"
  • Removing 'ccffb9a6f6d436b21be25b0241068981'
  • Removing install -D -m644 "$srcdir/agree.html" "$pkgdir/usr/share/licenses/$pkgname/LICENSE.html"

Same for me, 404 on the agreement page causing the package to fail

benoliver999 commented on 2020-03-23 11:11 (UTC)

This perhaps cannot be fixed... but the agree.html source is giving a 404
