Tired of compiling? Use this binary repo instead! Add this at the end of /etc/pacman.conf :

[linuxkernels]
Server = http://nhameh.ovh/$repo/$arch
SigLevel = Optional TrustAll

im using this kernel for performance reasons, not security. im the only user in my computers, so local exploits dont make sense in my case. how can i disable this plugin thing, to be able to use the cpu optimisations?

eggz commented on 2024-04-25 10:09 (UTC)

the vanilla arch kernel doesnt have CONFIG_GCC_PLUGIN_STACKLEAK, which is really questionable...

Yes, it works with default arch kernel. It worked until the last version with znver2 on 3600X. Seems to work with znver3 on 56000X.

huh, if I read that correctly, it seems the nvidia dkms is not compatible with the stackleak plugin or kernel hardening. If that is correct and I read that right, That's not a very secure dkms mod then!

@teJECSke

Interesting error but not enough info. Has it worked before, does it work on other kernels, are you using other custom kernels. What are you asking?

good to hear! I dont use the "CONFIG_EFI" module and it had upstream trouble.

@eggz: v6.8.6-2 worked for me. Thanks again!

eggz commented on 2024-04-14 19:25 (UTC)

Okay, if 6.8.6-2 doesnt work I need to find out what the problem is. This can take a while.

bkuri commented on 2024-04-14 19:04 (UTC)

@eggz I was also affected by v6.8.5, so I rolled back for now.

Just wondering if you have tested v6.8.6 yet? Would you say it's okay to update?

Thanks in advance!
