@Athemis Sorry about that, fixed now. I basically have three slightly different pkgbuild files to update (local, aur, and obs for binaries)... ;-)
Athemis commented on 2018-06-13 15:54 (UTC)
Thanks for keeping this up to date! However, 4.17.1 fails to compile for me, unless I change $_clearver
to 27b762cf009a56fa47e00660d602f9db4b672ffb
.

@gaougalos That's expected if you're building this kernel on top of the default arch kernel since all those config options are not present in default clear .config
but are in stock arch.

As of 4.16.14-1
I've added kernel_gcc_optimizations patch. Disabled by default. Try and report any issues.

@Osleg Moved acpi_rev_override as a choice. As for those additional patches, I don't know, this kernel is meant for newer intel skylake processors...
Osleg commented on 2018-05-02 02:16 (UTC)
@metak I'm not sure it should be enabled by default as this is rarely used. Tho on the other hand vanilla kernel has it enabled so I don't know which approach would be better. imho tho providing prompts to enable/disable features like it happens in linux-ck, including the -mnative builds requested below would be the best option to allow every user to chose the options he needs the most.

The PKGBUILD file supports a few different configurable build-time options:
_makenconfig
Tweak kernel options prior to a build via nconfig. Pseudo-graphical menu based on ncurses. 1 2_localmodcfg
Only compile active modules to VASTLY reduce the number of modules built and the build time._subarch
Enable additional optimization/tuning for kernel builds by adding more micro-architectures options. Default isGeneric-x86-64
number36
if nothing else is selected._use_current
Use the current kernel's.config
file. Enabling this option will use the.config
of the RUNNING kernel rather than the ARCH defaults. Useful when the package gets updated and you already went through the trouble of customizing your config options. NOT recommended when a new kernel is released, but again, convenient for package bumps._use_llvm_lto
Compile the kernel with LLVM/Clang._debug
Enabley
some additional debug features present in arch kernel, but not in Clear upstream.n
to force disable or leave empty to ignore.Lastly, build the kernel by setting your environment variable
env _subarch=40 _localmodcfg=y

1. Binaries available in my repo: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/metakcahura:/kernel/Arch_Extra_standard/x86_64/
THIS IS OPTIONAL:
2. After install adjust your boot cmd line. ClearLinux uses clr-boot-manager which takes care of that. This is upstream default:
