the BFQ kernel panic issue was been fixed in 2nd "revision" version ..anyway 4.7 kernel has arrived (stable repos) and patches for it I just hope nvidia (non-free) drivers will support 4.7 kernel soon (officially), there is some patch that does work

I'm experiencing some kernel panics with the new BFQ, so I'm downgrading myself to 4.6.4-1. If anyone else is experiencing kernel panics, I will downgrade for everyone.

I'm updating to the new version of BFQ, but for the kernel update I will keep in sync with the archlinux version. I don't have enough time to follow all minor patches that should be applied (as sometimes arch does, usually fixing kernel panics). Is also a guarantee for me that the kernel has been tested by several arch-linux users without BFQ and steamos patches. If any problem arises, is going to be because of these patches, or I will find the solution from the arch linux community (depending on where the problem is originating from).

Apparently if I update the url of xpad.c but don't delete the old one, makepkg still keeps the old one. Sorry for that, I'll make sure to delete it and have correct checksums the next times.

Updated to 4.4 - updated kernel to 4.4.1 (based on 4.4.1-2 linux package) - update BFQ to v7r11 - update xpad to newer version upstream

@conan513 thanks man. As @sten_gun was saying, the best performance gain you have is from BFQ, a differente disk scheduler. I suggest you to also modify the `/usr/bin/steam` command of this crap: ``` 196: exec "$LAUNCHSTEAMDIR/$STEAMBOOTSTRAP" "$@" 2>&1 | tee "/tmp/dumps/${USER}_stdout.txt" ``` The `tee` command is spamming your RAM with a lot useless log, removing this useless log saving improved my performance quite a bit. I didn't kwno about LQX, I just shared what I is the configuration I use everyday for gaming (and not only). Thanks for the info, maybe I'll try to add also that one and integrate some patches from Liquorix if I see some visible improvements.

Bfq can do a lot (and 1000hz frequency helps too), no wonder you get a decent performance boost. I personally strip xpad.c from this package and just use dkms version (I know, that package is a bit hacky but I prefer to separate that module so I can update it easily)

Great job! This is the best package for gaming and finally I have 60+ FPS in Borderlands 2. I tested the LQX kernel too and it's only good on Ubuntu but it doesn't work very well on arch and I don't know why. BTW you need to update the xpad sha.
