The repository for linux-rt and linux-rt-lts has moved to a new location.

If you use the custom repository, please update your pacman.conf accordingly, as the other one is going away by the end of the month (January 2021)!

I have also big problems with latest linux-rt:

Error messages at boot about udev that cannot initialize socket, after it will go to recovery console but keyboard is not working.

Tested in 2 different computers and 2 different USB keyboard

linux-rt-lts is working fine and also archlinux last kernel

These systems are fully updated to today.

Latest PKGBUILD, 5.10.12.26.arch1-1, not working so well. 5.10.8 worked fine.

USB keyboard not working, lvm partitions not found in the LUKS container. Same results with fallback initrd. This is on a Thinkpad x395.

Mainline "linux" package (5.10.12-arch1-1 installed about the same time) is fine, so I discard mkinitcpio as culprit.

Could you add the patch from:

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/nouveau/uploads/8844d508dbe905daf9802007dc1c7e03/0001-drm-gpu-nouveau-dispnv50-Restore-pushing-of-all-data.patch

Without it, nvidia nv50 cards are freezing frequently (see bugreport https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/nouveau/-/issues/14). I'm using it for few days now and it solved my problems.

Thanks

why clone the linux-rt repository which weighs 1.6GiB instead of just downloading the 176MiB source in .tar.gz format? This would save storage and cpu (during the git deltas resolution)

Getting the same error as @cavilory on an Asus TUF A15. EDIT: sorry for the noise, seems it was caused by a buggy sd card reader.

linux-rt 5.9.1-rt20-1-rt

Dmesg output:

BUG: using smp_processor_id() in preemptible [00000000] code: usb-storage/257
BUG: using smp_processor_id() in preemptible [00000000] code: usb-storage/252

on laptop Asus FX503

Same bug reported in gentoo forum:

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8538181.html?sid=4b81beb199abb23764b617905af5e3b6

This is a serious bug, systems slow down, CPU load increase.

I have received this report: "...these errors happen on a AMD B450-f motherboard and a NUC7I7DNBE. The first uses the USB 3.0 controller onboard the processor chip, the second the USB controller on the Intel SOC..."

Yesterday I tested a Lenovo Yoga 530 with AMD Ryzen™ 7-2700U and the problem is confirmed.

linux-rt-lts not affected, so I switched to this one.

With the last realtime kernel, booting from USB I have this error:

[ 169.847376] BUG: using smp_processor_id() in preemptible [00000000] code: usb-storage/249

The error is repeating.

This is not present in mainline kernel.

Some suggestions?

@dvzrv Please see my comment below. Would you accept this simple change?

PKGBUILD now fetches the latest tarball from your gitlab repo instead of pulling the whole git history.
