@merlyn: OHCI, unlike UHCI, is unusual. This explains why linux-rt users aren't complaining in droves.

merlyn commented on 2019-04-18 13:11

Thanks for looking into this. There was an error related to OHCI. I'll find the entry in my journal and post it.

@merlyn: Would there be something in the dmesg output?

jhernberg commented on 2019-04-17 17:44

Ralf I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I understood all that :)

Still I take it that you have no problem with USB devices?

Ralf_Mardorf commented on 2019-04-16 15:56

I forgot to mention that the USB mouse works with all kernels, so at least one USB device always works. At the moment I'm using 5.0.7_rt5-1 build from the original AUR tarball, with the same config and patches.

Ralf_Mardorf commented on 2019-04-16 12:40

I build all 5.x-rt kernels without the nf_tables-fix patch and using another config. I'm just doing this because of an issue that happened when running 5.0.3_rt1-1 from AUR and since I didn't use the patch and another config for 5.0.3_rt1-0, a kernel build before 5.0.3_rt1-1 was provided by the AUR. I don't know what actually was the culprit for the issue I experienced.

$ pacman -Q linux{,-rt{,-cornflower,-pussytoes,-securityink}}|cut -d\  -f2
5.0.7.arch1-1
5.0.7_rt4-0
5.0.5_rt3-0
5.0.3_rt1-0
4.19.31_rt18-0

I didn't use 5.0.7.arch1-1 and 5.0.7_rt4-0 with an USB device. All other kernels were used with an USB device, but not with an USB audio device.

The following happens only with Manjaro's rt patched version of linux50. No issue with the regular version.

When firefox tries to recover tabs of a previous session, they crash. Normal operation of firefox is not affected. Only these specific tabs are broken.

Hi,

does Manjaro use additional patches, maybe those used by linux-rt from AUR?

I build 5.0.3_rt1-0 without the nf_tables-fix patch and using a different config than linux-rt from AUR.

Apart from the name 5.0.3_rt1-1 is equal with linux-rt from AUR.

I needed to downgrade, because a windows guest in virtualbox became unresponsive. I tried several times to use the guest, when booted into the AUR kernel 5.0.3_rt1-1. There is no issue when using 5.0.3_rt1-0 without one patch and a different config.

[rocketmouse@archlinux ~]$ grep pussytoes\ /var/log/pacman.log | grep downgrade [2019-03-27 06:33] [ALPM] downgraded linux-rt-pussytoes (5.0.3_rt1-1 -> 5.0.3_rt1-0)

Regards, Ralf

@merlyn, I'll try to reproduce when I get some time. Something specific I ought to be looking for? Anyone else have problems with USB devices?

Ralf_Mardorf commented on 2019-04-16 07:54

Just a heads-up, if somebody wants to build 5.0.7-rt4, do it without htmldocs.

merlyn commented on 2019-04-11 14:14

My USB devices keep disconnecting. This has happened with RT 5.0.3 and 5.0.5. I'm now on the stock 5.0.7 kernel and there seems to be no problem. Neither is there a problem with rt-lts 4.19.31

@patrickelectric: Did you try to build using makepkg -A?
