Any possibilities to add linux surface pro 2017 support? If so, I think this patch: https://github.com/qzed/linux-surfacegen5-acpi.git is for battery status would help, or just use this repository: https://github.com/qzed/linux-surface.git instead of jackday's. Thanks a lot. It seems the origin setup.sh doesn't work for manjaro.

The latest change seems to have broken patching ("for src in resources" literally sets $src to "resources"). If you still want to avoid listing the patches in the sources array, try this: https://pastebin.com/GL0WbAZG

I suppose the problem is line 141 in PKGBUILD

sed "$subst" "../$install" > "../$install.pkg"

Quick Fix:

 _YOUR_CACHE_DIR_FOR_YAY='/home/mbeh/.cache/yay'
 cd ${_YOUR_CACHE_DIR_FOR_YAY}/linux-surface4/
 cp install.linux install.linux.pkg
 makepkg

Hi, I tried to install with yay -S linux-surface4 and get an the following error after compiling the kernel:

cp: cannot stat '/home/mbeh/.cache/yay/linux-surface4/linux.install.pkg': No such file or directory

==> ERROR: Failed to add install file to package.

Hi Flo, Thanks for flagging this one. I needed to revert to 130c250e0c7f because surfacedock.patch was removed (this makes the ethernet port use Realtek RTL8153 which still doesn't work, cdc_ether does).

Also "hack to allow specifying an initially nonexisting install file" didn't seem to work for me (had to manually rename to linux.install).

Thanks @freimair and @caozheji

I did notice that the bundled IPTS firmware (v78 (Surface Pro 4)) seemed to reset my mouse cursor to a different (wrong) display in multi monitor setup under Gnome on Xorg.

Replacing the firmware with Jakeday's latest, available at: https://github.com/jakeday/linux-surface/tree/master/firmware fixed it for me.

@caozheji, I just took over package maintenance and sourced your repo. Thanks for the great work.

for all you guys having a quite unstable wifi-connection:

add

[connection]
# Values are 0 (use default), 1 (ignore/don't touch), 2 (disable) or 3 (enable).
wifi.powersave = 2

to /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf. Then reboot. That did it for me.
