update: website appears to be moved to xyne.dev, in the meantime i've installed this package from Xyne's own repo, which produces no errors.

it appears the signature isn't right, and xyne.archlinux.ca also appears to be down. @Xyne, is this package still maintained?

@nlacombe

The easiest way is to export it from the pacman key ring:

pacman-key -e 1D1F0DC78F173680 > xyne.asc

and then import it with gpg. You should also be able to import it from any of the main public keyservers. It's also posted on my website: https://xyne.archlinux.ca/

where can I get that public key to import it?

Makepkg verifies signatures with the user's keyring. You have to import the key as you have done in order to check packages. It's not a bug. It's just the way makepkg works.

As a workaround until the maintainer responds, removing the .sig file references from the sources file as well as the 2nd hash from the sha512 and md5 sections allows the package to build successfully.

C.UTF-8 a.k.a. "locales-c.utf-8" is interesting too: https://manpages.debian.org/unstable/open-infrastructure-locales-c.utf-8/locales-c.utf-8.7.en.html#RATIONAL
