The thing is I do use app like that -> xbacklight but it doesn't seem to work after installing this update. Also I've installed light and it also doesn't work.

This is just the actual driver. You need some userspace app, like light from [community].

@frank604: Thanks! I simply just don't use a MacBook any more, so I don't need this package, nor is it simple for me to test it.

Upstream has been pretty stable though, so I don't expect it to break soon.

I no longer own hardware which uses this driver, so I'll be disowning this package since I can't even test it any more.

Feel free to adopt this if you'd like to maintain this package.

I also never use Thunderbolt though I use the mini display port. Just to clarify that should we put acpi_osi=!Darwin, or acpi_osi="!Darwin"?

@melmeiro Honestly, I can't quite recall why I had to set acpi_osi=!Darwin, but I do believe it had to do with battery duration. I very rarely use TB, and never hotplug it (though I do use the Mini DisplayPort), so I don't care (or even know) if hotplugging actually works for me.

After reading rembo10's comment, I made a research of "acpi_osi=!Darwin", and read a bunch of topics and discussions, in which they refer to "acpi_osi=Darwin". Besides, there is a news about "Thunderbolt hotplug support for Apple devices" in the LWN. You can access the story from "https://lwn.net/Articles/575364/". I am just curious that is the difference between acpi_osi="!Darwin" and acpi_osi=Darwin. The second one already works like charm on my system. Thanks for your time.
