For each of the plugins I'm currently getting an error like:

CMake Error at cmake/meshlab_tools.cmake:27 (install):
  install TARGETS given no LIBRARY DESTINATION for module target "io_3ds".
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  meshlabplugins/io_3ds/CMakeLists.txt:12 (add_meshlab_plugin)

The only difference being the concrete plugin each time (the error message itself is the same).

edit 2023-02-08: still having this issue, if anyone knows what's going on please throw a pointer my way

Yep, they changed the packaging scheme form submodules to cmake projects ¯⁠\⁠⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠⁠/⁠¯ just gave me a sec to shuffle some lines around.

I am currently getting this error in prepare(): sed: can't read /build/meshlab-git/src/meshlab/src/external/e57/src/E57XmlParser.cpp: No such file or directory

Removing it seems to work

once the package is cloned, when compiling it, it displays the following error:
