I have working PKGBUILD for version 2.0.1 - https://github.com/jiri-one/archlinux-pkgbuilds/tree/main/methane

You can update now? New clanlib is on community repo.

Sorry, we need clanlib 4.0.1 in community before I can update to 2.0.1.

Okay, with the clanlib update to 3.0 in community we need to build the old 2.3 version manually until upstream adds support for the new version. Creating a patch this time is a bit difficult, because of some api-breaking changes. However, rombust (the creator of methane) is also an active contributor to clanlib development, so I hope it will happen soon.

Adopted and updated. This now works again, because I disabled the OpenGL1 renderer with an additional patch.

This bug comes from clanlib. See https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32903 I'll try something...

I got: Package clanGL1-2.3 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `clanGL1-2.3.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'clanGL1-2.3' found In file included from sources/game.cpp:28:0: sources/target.h:19:26: fatal error: ClanLib/core.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. make: *** [build/game.o] Error 1 ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build(). Hi. Just because the clanlib22 package did not want to build on my machine, i did some further investigating. Looks like methane does work with clanlib 2.3.X, only small changes are needed. (Some of them were already posted by gadget3000 below) The guys from fedora have added a patch [1], which allows us to ditch the clanlib22 dependency and use the clanlib package from the community repo. I included the patch in my modified PKGBUILD and it works like a charm. Have a nice day! =) [1] http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=methane.git;a=blob_plain;f=methane-1.5.1-clanlib-23.patch;hb=HEAD

To any potential maintainers: clanlib2 no longer exists because clanlib now exists in [community]. methane doesn't play nice with clanlib v2.3 though. It may eventually get updated and fixed but for now this as as far I can get with my limited c++ knowledge and by patching in the PKGBUILD: http://pastebin.com/6QtnbE7X
