I have exactly the same issue with 2.29.1, and even with options=(!buildflags).

Ok, I really do not know what to think: some tests fails from my machine, but everything goes fine from another one. :(

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I updated the PKGBUILD to 2.29.1 and the new build works without issues here. Could you try this one, and maybe share your makepkg.conf/compiler flags if it still doesn't work?

I'm also having trouble running check(). Here's the complete makepkg output. https://pastebin.com/AJy4NixB Do you know what's happening?

I am sorry, today I checked for compilation flags in my envs, but there is nothing around. Unfortunately, I also get just some useless "compilation failed" errors, without any interesting information about the problem. Have you got any advice to run these checks with some kind of "verbose" option? Just to let you know (maybe this could be useful in some way): $ uname -a Linux pc 4.8.13-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 9 07:24:34 CET 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'm not able to reproduce your errors, so unfortunately I have no idea. Do you have any odd compiler settings/flags or something like that?

I am having issues during the ld host-check phase. The following tests fail to compile: ld-elfcomm/common1a.c, ld-gc/*.c, ld-scripts/cross1.c, ld-selective/*, ld-srec/sr1.c, ld-undefined/undefined.c I could just remove the "check" from the PKGBUILD, but probably something strange is going on here. Any idea?
