I'm working with Ceph at work and I managed to boot from a rbd, with help from this package. Some things have changed tough and I needed to make a few modifications. I needed to change the command line arguments a bit ( Or maybe I just didn't get the explaination ) and /sys/bus/rbd/add needed to be changed to /sys/bus/rbd/add_single_major.
Since I'm working with Ceph, I'd be willing to adopt this package if you don't plan on maintaining it anymore.
