You need to get or update the key:

problem with pgp signatures,

==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg...
    mpd-notification-0.8.7.tar.xz ... FAILED (unknown public key 4E8FCA25FDAC4855)

Problem seems to be solved, after maintainer updated the PKGBUILD, https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/commit/?h=mpd-notification&id=6c89000bd8f49f777913046f2f29f2c4ade889ee

Was working fine until 29.May.2022.

Then I started noticing this,

May 29 16:46:40  systemd[339]: Failed to start MPD Notification.
May 29 16:46:40  systemd[339]: mpd-notification.service: Scheduled restart job, restart counter is at
4.
May 29 16:46:40  systemd[339]: Stopped MPD Notification.

Tried uninstalling and then reinstalling,

 -> Could not find all required packages:
        markdown (Wanted by: mpd-notification)

Noticed that this is marked red, here, on this same webpage,

 " Dependencies (8) - markdown (make) "

I then tried "mpd-notifications-git" instead, and it works, https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mpd-notification-git

Noticed that it was updated in March 2022,

-   makedepends = markdown
+   makedepends = discount

It's the same maintainer, eworm. So maybe he forgot to update this "mpd-notification" PKGBUILD as well ?

Or remove "mpd-notification" from the AUR and only keep "mpd-notification-git" ???
