This package is no longer building after the latest boost upgrade, is it?

@dmp1ce, I'm having the same issue. --> systemctl status namecoin.service ● namecoin.service - Namecoin Daemon Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/namecoin.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled) Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Fri 2016-09-30 21:58:25 EDT; 5s ago Process: 16587 ExecStop=/usr/bin/namecoind stop (code=exited, status=203/EXEC) Process: 16585 ExecStart=/usr/bin/namecoind -daemon=0 -conf=/etc/namecoin/namecoin.conf -datadir=/srv/namecoin -pid Main PID: 16585 (code=exited, status=203/EXEC) Sep 30 21:58:25 arch systemd[1]: Started Namecoin Daemon. I create the package namecoin-core-git so I could get namecoin installed and running. It is a fork of this package. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/namecoin-core-git/ Even though it didn't give any errors, I still had trouble with namecoin-cli. The "name_new" command was missing and I didn't know how to load my wallet.dat file into this version of namecoin.

This package is building for me now, but it is installing the following in my /usr/bin: namecoin-core /usr/bin/bench_bitcoin namecoin-core /usr/bin/bitcoin-cli namecoin-core /usr/bin/bitcoin-tx namecoin-core /usr/bin/bitcoind namecoin-core /usr/bin/test_bitcoin Also, systemctl start namecoin give me the following in the journald log: Jul 01 14:53:13 xxx systemd[1]: Started Bitcoin Daemon. Jul 01 14:53:13 xxx systemd[1]: namecoin.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=217/USER Jul 01 14:53:13 xxx systemd[1]: namecoin.service: Control process exited, code=exited status=217 Jul 01 14:53:13 xxx systemd[1]: namecoin.service: Unit entered failed state. I'm getting an error during the package step. ==> Starting package()... -> Installing license... -> Installing man pages... install: cannot stat 'contrib/debian/manpages/namecoind.1': No such file or directory ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package(). Aborting... ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build namecoin-core.

“namecoin-cli getnewaddress” works here — it must be a difference in setup.

JZA commented on 2016-03-13 12:11 (UTC)

So good news, I was able to build it, bad news I cant get an account/address. I read the PKGBUILD saw the --disable-wallet option for build, so I change it for --with-incompatible-bdb but both gave me the same result, no: 'namecoin-cli getnewaddress' Please help.

kseistrup commented on 2016-03-12 18:43 (UTC)

@jza depnding on what you mean, I believe you're wrong. The namecoin-core packaage proper contains namecoind, namecoin-cli and namecoin-tx. The namecoin-cli thing is used to send RPC command to namecoind, and among those commands are wallet commands. It works like a charm.

JZA commented on 2016-03-12 18:27 (UTC)

I think this package doesn't really offer wallet options, so you can't create new addresses or accounts. I would need to look into it for --disable-wallet I wonder if this is enabled with namecoin-qt, but I am not sure it would. Please let me know if there are some technical problems. I had an earlier conversation about Berkley DB breaking the wallet functionality because the database is too new. (WTF?) Please let me know if there is something that needs to be done to have this package fully operational on the package notes.
