Maybe these issues with openssl would be resolved if this package would also define all it's dependencies.

@davidrec Actually, I just realised you can also just install openssl-1.1 from the core official repos and use this package.

BachoSeven commented on 2023-11-05 19:06 (UTC)

@davidrec Since this is a -bin package, it doesn't get rebuilt against new libraries. There is the ncspot package in the official repos in the meantime (which is outdated but working), but for this one you need to wait for a new release, or build ncspot-git yourself.

Hi,

When launching ncspot I have:

$ ncspot ncspot: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

What should I do?

Thank you.

Just in case someone has the same problem as me with version 0.13.1-2... If you use pamac and the package fails to build due to the SHA check, probably you has to remove build cache with pamac clean -b (will remove all packages build cache) or remove just this package's build cache with: rm -rf /var/tmp/pamac/pamac-build-$USER/ncspot-bin

Since the current maintainer is MIA and while waiting to be able to accept the orphan request ([PRQ#40899]), I put BachoSeven (who filled the request and expressed their wish to maintain this package) as a co-maintainer so the package can be maintained/updated in the mean time.

Without any sign from hapakaien until then, BachoSeven will become the new maintainer.

Getting this error:

ncspot: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Looking over at ncspot-git, it appears that the package just needs to be rebuilt with the new libssl version in mind?
