I had to edit the source url to this in order for this to install:

https://github.com/3DprintFIT/netfabb-basic-download/releases/download/v7.4.0/netfabb-free_7.4.0_linux64.tar.gz

The link appears to still be valid, but when you go to the link directly, it wants you to accept terms and conditions before it allows you to download.

Autodesk took over the project, the legacy download is here: https://www.netfabb.com/legacy-downloads

Hi guys, On my computer with 64bit architecture, netfabb-basic works fine with gtk2 (i.e. we can comment l.23 of the PKGBUILD).

OK, here's the deal -- for whatever reason, when cower updates the package, it did NOT update the PKGBUILD info, so the checksum was wrong in there.

@mrunion Start from answering to my comment from 2016-02-26 or reaching me on freenode (eg. #slic3r channel but you can just /query swiftgeek)

Update for 7.4.0, still checksum problem. I will try to download it manually and check the difference. I am on Arch 64-bit. I don't know the file size or checksum because when the download fails checksum it deleted the file (what sense is that? Why not leave the file? I know that's not your fault.) I have to download the file manually and then run the md5sum on it and it takes a while for me to ferret out all that stuff from the PKGBUILD.
