I just did a rebuild and cannot confirm the problem with empty manpages.

Empty man pages at install

Simple workaround is to just download the archives from ubuntu manpages and replace the empty ones from /usr/share/man

Trying to run notangle on a fresh build fails with the following errors:

/usr/bin/notangle: line 26: //usr/lib/noweb/markup: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/notangle: line 26: //usr/lib/noweb/nt: No such file or directory

Thanks for the quick fix. looking good!

I don’t think the current package works: it only does make boot not make all and thus builds only a small part of the required files (e.g. not tomarkup). But I have been unable to build the package even after replacing make boot with make boot all, due to icon throwing errors like

icon -f l totex.icn
totex.nw: "text": undeclared identifier, procedure main
totex.nw: "useitemstab": undeclared identifier, procedure main
totex.nw: "defns": undeclared identifier, procedure main
totex.nw: "noindex": undeclared identifier, procedure main
[snip]

Sadly, I know nothing about Icon.

I cannot install the package. Here is the error:

line 18: cd: noweb-2.11b: No such file or directory

The src dir shows that the sources are indeed in a different dir (notice the underscore instead of the dot):

drwxr-xr-x 4 stefano stefano 4.0K Jun 13 2006 noweb-2_11b

Yet, replacing dot with an underscore in the PKGBUILD leads to more problems:

sed: can't read contrib/Makefile: No such file or directory

I can't see any contrib dir in src, in fact.

Fixed, please uninstall noweb before building it again.

No, just that nawk was not in the repos when I created the PKGBUILD.

Any logic in the install script creating a nawk symlink from gawk instead of just depending on nawk?
