maintainer JerryXiao changend something at 20250206

i saw, many thanks to him that he hard working for support this legacy driver!)

woow, at my Artix(nosystemd fork of Arch) now i am install kernel 6.12.0(non lts) and gcc 14.1.1, driver installed and working good, but without dkms, maybe i will test dkms at near future and report here how it works.

And one yet great thing, here at dual boot i have Fedora41, and i use patcher from if-not-true-then-false(based at JerryXiao patches) and even after update to kernel 6.14.5 and gcc 14.2.1, 340.108 driver still working good and dkms too! Its awesome!)

@freeartist First English isnt my native language, second i`m not an expert. The maintainer JerryXiao changend something at 20250206 and then I could run the paru uninstall and install commands, and after installing the package automatically runs dkms install. this is the only thing I reported earlier. Perhaps someone would expound this, who has more expertise, best regards

@bigjuck Thanks a lot for info man!) I am found another thread at AUR nvidia-340xx(non lts) idk what this mean?

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/nvidia-340xx

There also are useful comments.

So. You build 340.108 with no dkms but lts? And what version gcc are you using for build 340xx-lts?

No more new patches for kernel 6.8+?

bigjuck commented on 2025-05-08 19:42 (UTC)

Same thing for me against linux-lts 6.12.27

sayonalion commented on 2025-05-03 12:52 (UTC)

I can't compile the driver against linux-lts 6.12.26.

bigjuck commented on 2025-02-09 14:46 (UTC)

The way it runs for me,

paru -R nvidia-340xx-lts (or any other aur-package manager) and then paru -S nvidia-340xx-lts

Hope this helps

Strange but my Xserver doesn't start with the new 6.12 kernel, though the module was compiled without issues. Here's the tail of my Xorg.log: (downgrading to the previous LTS 6.6.72 kernel works OK)
