This started failing recently due to how github has changed how git can be used to access repositories. Repos with a url: https://github.com/user/project work as before while repos with a url: git@github.com:user/project don't work the same way. See: https://github.blog/2021-09-01-improving-git-protocol-security-github/

So, this package does not install without a change to the PKGBUILD.

Change: source=(git@github.com:hoelzro/obvious.git) to source=(git+https://github.com/hoelzro/obvious.git) to fix this situation.

To fix the "ERROR: Missing package() function in /tmp/packerbuild-1000/obvious-git/obvious-git/PKGBUILD" error change the build() function on line 17 to package()

getting an error for this PKGBUILD: ERROR: Missing package() function in /tmp/packerbuild-1000/obvious-git/obvious-git/PKGBUILD

@sergey_klay - This is a git PKGBUILD. All you have to do is re-run makepkg -s and you'll be on the latest version. Unflagging.

Please update for latest vversion https://github.com/hoelzro/obvious

Updated it to the new GitHub repo. It looks like hoelzro is doing a good job keeping it maintained.

Awesome 3.5 just got pushed. I've pulled the current obvious.git (this package no longer works for 3.5 due to the signal and widget changes), and apart from a two line bugfix to obvious/battery/init.lua, it seems to work for me. (Big disclaimer: obvious.battery is the only component I actually use myself.) I've mailed the owner the patch, so as soon as he includes it, a new version of this package could be made against the latest git? Maybe the depends of the old and new package could be set to 3.4/3.5 as well? (Not sure if this is actually possible with aur packages...)

Does someone have an alternate repository where I can clone from? School's http proxy does not allow git connections; I can only clone through http and git.mercenariesguild.net has no http url, only git.

Oh yeah, that reminds me that I fixed some bugs because it doesn't work with the current version :< Anyway, unless someone's forked my project altogether, the "next gen" branch will eventually be merged into master, and this'll magically work again.
