This package (and probably most/all others that run "octave pkg-install") will not build if /tmp is mounted noexec (see https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?57641 ). Workaround : run "TMPDIR=~/other_tmpdir makepkg" . Not sure if/how upstream could fix this...

Upgrading fails with conflicts How to fix: Uninstall the package and packages which depend on it with pacman -Rc <package>, then re-install the new version and packages which depend on it. See also https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=196909.

Ok. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the problem, since it builds just fine for me with -j4. But acting on the side of caution, I am disabling custom makeflags for this package.

Hi! Sorry for the delay, I was able to build it by removing the "-j 4" flag from /etc/makepkg.conf. Thanks for the tip :)
