Please note that when using this package, you will not be able to use the Plugin Manager but have to install plugins via the aur or compile them yourself. If you need a plugin that is not in the aur, feel free to contact me for help.

Thanks for the job ! By installing it on a fresh install, there is 2 missing dependencies : make and patch.

Thanks for the patience everyone, here comes 5.8.4. Unfortunately, upstream does not want plugins packaged as OS packages anymore (see this commit and its discussion), whereas I surely do. Consequently, I patched out their check blocking our plugins. As we compile all plugins from source, this should not break anything (so far, it works for me). If it does break, please report here or on the plugin's AUR page.

@doubleq Unfortunately, I encountered some problems related to the plugins with 5.8.4 which I did not have time yet to solve. As for an ETA, I'd have to say about 1.5 months. Depending on which plugins you use or of which nature your problems are, you might try and just manually change the version in your local PKGBUILD and rebuild the package.

Hej @cybuzuma, as I encouter some problems with the 5.8.2 version - can you tell, when you can make the newest release (5.8.4) available?

@leigh: I am afraid I can not reproduce the white waypoint names using KDE. Sounds like something between your desktop environment/graphics toolkit and the app, which is unfortunately above my pay grade.

@paneves: You will need to find the github page for the specific plugin (start looking at https://github.com/rgleason?tab=repositories). Then, look at the PKGBUILDS of the available plugins, eg climatology or celestial-navigation. There, you can see the cmake parameters I used to compile them. They are working for a lot of the plugins. You can either write your own PKGBUILD by adapting an existing one or do the build and install steps manually (I recommend the former one, it is easier than one might think). If compilation fails, report back with the name of the plugin and I'll look into it.

I'd like to use some plugins that are not available in AUR (e.g. Radar Plugin, AIS Radar View Plugin and Logbook Konni Plugin. How can I compile them?

Hi, Thanks so much to @cybuzuma for taking this up!

All installs for me without any problems

I have a slight niggle that the waypoint names are in white whatever I do in OpenCPn settings and GTK themes

I have bought this up upstream, but wondered if anyone else using this version has the same behaviour?
