Systemctl start/enable oracle-xe Doesn't work after reboot, SO I use cronie with normal user to start server.

@reboot /usr/lib/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/config/scripts/startdb.sh

If the server fails to start after reboot:

  1. Make sure to add the user to the group 'dba', or use the user 'oracle'.
  2. In the terminal run: lsnrctl
  3. Run: start. If it fails, perform sudo rm /var/tmp/.oracle/* and run start again.
  4. Open the terminal and run: sqlplus / as sysdba
  5. Run: startup

To shut down: In the terminal: sqlplus / as sysdba and then shutdown
