Thank you for maintaining this package, @AlancitoBalanza. Just another suggestion I have is to add !debug to the makepkg options. They enabled it by default last year, and it doesn't do anything to this package, besides taking more time.

I tested on my machine and got 24.89 s with strip on, 19.19 s with !strip and 7.24 s with !strip !debug (measuring full makepkg invocation with clean directories).

@marmis: Wow, I never noticed that the release files were outdated. I'll push your changes, thanks for notifying.

Hey, this package is using release/Orchis.tar.xz from the repo, but this archive is not updated automatically and tends to be outdated. See how version 2024-04-01 has its source updated on April 1st, but the release folder is from March 11. The same happened with the current version, 2024-04-18, with releases from April 1st. This means that bug fixes don't always appear on this package, like issue #412.

The solution is to build from source, using install.sh. The good news is that building the default themes don't require sassc, because the maintainer provides prebuilt css files for that, so no new makedepends. I've updated the PKGBUILD to check that it works, you can find it on Gitlab.

Why does this package only include the default color?

AlancitoBalanza commented on 2022-06-01 12:16 (UTC)

The names of theme variations changed casing (e.g. "Orchis-dark" is now "Orchis-Dark"). Your theme config might stop working after the update.

@yochananmarqos: Thanks for the suggestions, I just fixed that.

@AlancitoBalanza: There's nothing wrong with this package. My guess is you'll never hear from @balanice again as I bet he didn't enable notifications. It's no longer default when commenting.

While I'm here, there's no reason to specifically add any other variation of this package to the conflicts array. orchis-theme-git already provides and conflicts with orchis-theme. See Package relations.

@balanice Did you select the theme? I think you need to pick the theme in the Gnome Tweaks app. If that didn't help; could you try installing orchis-theme-git to see if the problem is specific to this package?

Not work after install and logout and login, Gnome 41.3
