I just realized since the time when I advocated for this a couple years ago and got permission to change the Wiki, I now have been upgraded to being a TU and with the migration to Gitlab I now have access to at least open MR requests on the namcap project; so I've opened one to fix this warning.

ok

See the Wiki; namcap is out of date in this regard, OFL has met the qualifications as a common license with an exemption such as MIT/BSD have where you still need to package the license file for the sake of the reserved font names at the top. It can and should be listed as just OFL in the license field though. Fixing this in Namcap has been discussed but development pace is glacial and there are quite a few known-bad warnings it is throwing right now.

using custom: prefix seems still necessary

  • $ namcap otf-pecita-5.4-3-any.pkg.tar
  • otf-pecita E: OFL is not a common license (it's not in /usr/share/licenses/common/)

About empty array I'm aware of it

Thanks for the update, that's much improved. My CI jobs that need fonts but not Xorg thank you!

By the way a small thing but for next time: Arch packaging standards also explicitly say to avoid including empty variables. The unused depends should just be deleted rather than being an empty array.

Also the license still needs fixing ;-)

Can you please remove the dependencies from this package? All of them are obsoleted by changes to Arch packaging which uses hooks for the things that they were needed for before. See the wiki for confirmation.

Also the license should now be listed as just 'OFL' with no custom: prefix.

Voice: You should have flagged it out-of-date. The pkgsum failure is almost always caused by a newer version upstream as the source link used for this package goes to the latest version of the font.

Pecita.otf checksum fails. Try updpkgsums --help Thanks
