As no other suggestions come, what about renaming pl to ploticus? And the manpage silmilarily.

The first step would be to have a conflicts=('gnustep-base').

The solution is to change the name of the executable. Do you have any suggestions? Considerations include changes that other distros have made and how much trouble it is to update all of your scripts and backend programs.

This conflicts to gnustep-base, as both packages contain /usr/bin/pl.
