PSA: I've started hosting this as a prebuilt package in my repository for those that want to install it using pacman without messing around with building from the AUR.

Ouch. I take that back, this can't go to [community] yet. It does way to much mucking around with files that don't belong to it! I'm going to need to overhaul how the keyboard is setup from scratch, which is basically going to mean forking the project. I'm going to put this off a bit, but it is still on my list of things that I'd be willing to maintain in the repos if we can get it to follow the packaging guidelines. If anybody is interested in helping with a fork to sanitize the build and install methodology please get in touch.

In the mean time I may post some tidbits here to incrementally improve the PKGBUILD toward what it will look like to move it to official repos.

I'm going to migrate this to [community]. Expect to see it there soon and this repo to be deleted. Thanks for getting it rolling @ekkelett!

@caleb That looks great; those are some nice changes to an otherwise very still-standing package. :) Push a-hoy!

@ekkelett Thanks for the add. I made a pass through the packaging just to bring things closer to Arch guidelines and (in my personal opinion) reduce the hackishness of the install script. I'd love to fix the upstream, but I've tried several times to contact and never heard anything back :(

Before I post it here maybe you can double check me because I dropped the home.*.sh files. I figure if there is a system level install it doesn't really make sense to even have the home directory install shims. Additionally I really disliked what was going on in dvp.install.sh (the assumption about root, etc). I just copied the relevant bits to the package() function and dropped the script.

If this version (commit message and diff) looks good to you I'll push it over here.

@caleb No worries, I've added you as a co-maintainer. Thanks. :) If there are particular changes it'd be neat to post them here too.

AltGr is just Alt now... and makes me miss my ae, oe, aa. Here is a solution to this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1601714#p1601714 Edit 06.02.2016: I'm having trouble getting my solution to work when I add it to my startup script for dwm. It also doesn't write æøå to firefox. Edit 03.03.2016: I've updated my solution and have gotten my æøå back. Edit 07.03.2016: Updated again, can add -option lv3:ralt_switch to get back AltGr functionality

Quick note: I filed a orphan request, and I've now "adopted" the package. DLAGENTS has been removed from the package, as it works fine without. :)

stvn66 commented on 2015-03-26 04:51 (UTC)

@caleb, once I removed the DLAGENTS directive, I was able to make the package then install it. Thank you. @Kyrias, once installed, it directs users to edit /etc/X11/xorg.cof and /etc/vconsole.conf to change the layout. Neither of these files exist on my system. You mention a switch from rc.conf, what is the new file these settings are contained in?

alerque commented on 2015-02-03 10:18 (UTC)

The DLAGENTS directive needs to be removed from the PKGBUILD. The host server is blocking the customized user agent string and _not_ blocking the makepkg default one. Removing that line allows this to build, but it won't work with it right now.
