kde wayland works for me. if something cause a crash of wayland/sway, the problem is in wayland/sway, soft shouldn't crashed from other stuff.

But I can say that I had recent crashes after start in pycharm and idea. For example, after opening some project. Do not know how/if it is related.

KDE Wayland.

It's not only arch issue or even only wayland issue, but seems like all distros could be affected: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-71746/As-of-yesterday-Pycharm-and-IntelliJ-crashes-and-kills-my-Ubuntu-22.04-session

There's a workaround to remove a config.

mv $HOME/.config/JetBrains/PyCharm2024.1/options/other.xml $HOME/.config/JetBrains/PyCharm2024.1/options/other.xml.bak

@lybin pycharm also doesn't start. I can report to sway but it's pycharm that is not working and not sway.

Congrats, report to sway, not here :)

The latest version crashes sway:

 segfault at 40 ip 000077a6af765c38 sp 00007ffc4d64bd08 error 6 in libwayland-server.so.0.22.0[77a6af763000+8000] likely on CPU 1 (core 0, socket 0)

Hi @GodofTheFallen, these types of issues should be reported to the Jetbrains bug tracker, unless you believe it is a packaging issue.

GodofTheFallen commented on 2024-03-28 04:34 (UTC)

There is an issue where the JetBrains window will steal the focus, and other windows above the JetBrains window will be passed through by the mouse. Pycharm's own dropdown bars and pop-up menus will also be passed through and cannot be clicked.
