@MnJ okay thank you, that makes sense.

Would it not have been better for you to take over the fairseq package and update it

Yes, but we need to leave the out-of-date notice for a month before submitting an orphan request.

instead of maintain older compat with this PKGBUILD

I don't intend on maintaining this as a compat package indefinitely. I'll probably give it a couple of weeks and then change it regardless of whether "fairseq" has updated, since I deem this a reasonable notice period. Hence I would suggest you don't create a new package for https://pypi.org/project/Hydra/

Considering that fairseq is out of sync with upstream, I do not believe it will be updated to point to python-hydra-core ever.

What package name do you suggest I create the https://pypi.org/project/Hydra/ project under?

@acxz this package is not "out of date". The library you changed it to on 2022-06-11 is completely different to the one this name previously referred to (as you note, hydra-core). You only notified the four dependent packages after making this change, breaking them. Once the two "fairseq" packages have been updated to point instead to "python-hydra-core", then I will revert it back to your last set of changes. In the meantime, I will update the pkdbuild to "conflict" with python-hydra-core.

@MnJ can you update this package to the latest version, 2.5? https://repology.org/project/python:hydra/versions

The AUR package for the PKGBUILD you currently have is a duplicate of the python-hydra-core package.

@vuvko It's been fixed now. Thanks for pointing it out.

@filipg it seems your git repository isn't available for unauthorized access. I at least got an access denied error while cloning.

Fixed PKGBUILD at git://gonito.net/aur/python-hydra (I can take it over)
