@milaxnuts I have no experience with bwrap either. And for most people it’s probably just an overkill. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there are virtualized environments that do not support bwrap as well.

Qaac binary itself is open sourced but Apple’s encoder is closed source. However, I will be surprised if Apple is doing anything sketchy inside an audio encoder..

since qaac is 99% closed source, i suggest to run it in a sandbox.
for example, im using bubblewrap:
https://github.com/milahu/nur-packages/raw/master/pkgs/applications/audio/qaac/bwrap.nix

to make wine work in bubblewrap, i had to set WINEDLLPATH
to fix the error: wine: could not load ntdll.so
https://github.com/milahu/nur-packages/raw/master/pkgs/applications/audio/qaac/unwrapped.nix

i have no experience with bubblewrap, so i dont know how secure this is

nit: $f should be $1 in extract_filename

@sommio Put DLL file under /usr/lib/qaac

How should I install libFLAC.dll?

@Inlifeuser Thanks for reporting. I fixed PKGBUILD but did not bump the version as the build is the same.
