I guess the problem is here (or is easily solvable here). I will apply exactly what you mention, seems to be the easier option that doesn't require patching anything.

I get the following error "redsocks2.service: Failed to load environment files: No such file or directory" because the file /etc/conf.d/redsocks2 doesn't exist.
A temporary solution is to create the file yourself with the contents REDSOCKS_CONF=/etc/redsocks2.conf
Is this issue relevant to this package or should I write an issue on the project's github page?

@mushonnip you need to build a custom version of the package adding that option in line 38 of the current PKGBUILD

how do I set "ENABLE_HTTPS_PROXY=true" build parameter with this AUR package?
