I have contacted the developer to try and fix the config file issues, I am holding off updating the package right now because of this.

@bhartshorn I see, it does indeed do that. Unsure if I can fix it on my end though. Try chown -R $USER /opt/romvault for a more secure way.

Hi, when trying to save a config file (open settings, click save), romvault fails with the following:

An Application Error has occurred.

EXCEPTION:
Source: mscorlib
Message: Access to the path "/opt/romvault/RomVault3cfg.xml" is denied.

I tried creating that file and chmodding it so it's read/writeable, then romvault fails to start. (presumably because the config file is empy)

Anyone have a workaround?

EDIT: changing the "/opt/romvault" directory to 0777 works, but it's not a great workaround. The right way to handle it is obviously an upstream contribution that saves configs/data to proper user-owned config locations...

So for the record, RV's been updated to V3.1.0 for just over a week now (since Feb 25th) Just swapping out the version number and hashes should be enough! :)

Yeah, for some days already :( Found this http://forum.pleasuredome.org.uk/index.php?s=3266e91ce61088e290859b3e787eed9c&showtopic=28624 but nobody seems to know whats going on whis romvault's site. There's a git (fork?) at https://github.com/gjefferyes/RomVault but no binary yet and source/author is unknown. I'll keep an eye on this but when situation isn't improving I'll drop this package.
