Hello,

thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately I cannot get a connection to https://git.code.sf.net/p/scid/code. I will try some other time and update in case it works. Thanks for the tip.

/Pico

The code is right here: https://sourceforge.net/p/scid/code/ci/master/tree/ (https://git.code.sf.net/p/scid/code). Thank you for maintaining this package.

Hello @afontenot,

the reason to change the upstream to their official github was that starting with version 5 the linux package (scid_linux.tar.gz) that I got from sourceforge is a precompiled one, so I rather pick the tagged version from their github and compile it "as usual".

If you know how to get the sources from sourceforge I will gladly add it back here. You are also welcome to co-maintain the package with me... or even take over if you really want it ;-)

Cheers,

/@donpicoro

What is the reason for switching the source location to a Github link? As far as I can tell the official home page for Scid still points to Sourceforge for downloads. The Github link seems to be a (hopefully legitimate) mirror - but I would continue to use the official source until they link the Github on their website.

This is NOT out-of-date. The version is still 4.7.4 according to

https://sourceforge.net/projects/scid/files/

as of 2022/07/20.

This

https://sourceforge.net/p/scid/code/ci/43740990c3ee47d662d57d11bedac6e667a06fd8/

is just a commit on their source code. They are likely working on the eventual 4.8.0 release... for whenever is ready

I cannot make it work with OPTIMIZE="$CXXFLAGS"

src/hfilter.h:125:16: error: ‘make_unique’ is not a member of ‘std’ data_ = std::make_unique<byte[]>(capacity);

and many others..

for now it is as you guys wanted it except for that. Try and let me know ;-)

Sure can... I'm busy at the moment but as soon as I get some free time, I can try it myself and let you know.

Cheers

I was having a little conversation about the scid-PKGBUILD on the forum lately. Maybe you'd like to make some adaptations to it: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=245139

Updated to 4.7 ;-)
