@bartbrosens Ok I take it back, I mistakenly forgot to do a clean build. The size appears to be about 700 MB for both versions

@bartbrosens When updating from 5.2.1 to 5.3.0 the installed size went up from 1.5 GB to 2 GB, that's what I meant. I didn't investigate further. You're right about the http links, I changed it

@maxkl your remark about file size is surprising. When downloading the zip files from the URL used in the pkgbuild file (in which you might want to use https instead of http) for 5.2.1 and 5.3.0, I get the following file sizes:

  • 5.2.1: 428M
  • 5.3.0: 436M

Slightly larger but not 500 MB

@bartbrosens Thank you for the hint, I updated the package. I've been quite busy the past few weeks... Sadly, the new version is 500 MB bigger

@maxkl FYI: Sigasi Studio 5.3 has been releaed. This version (and 5.2.2 earlier) resolves the webkit2gtk issue.

bartbrosens commented on 2023-03-31 19:51 (UTC)

@maxkl Indeed, I (force) removed the webkit2gtk package to make it work. Probably been running without any webkit2gtk at all.

@bartbrosens Thank you for the hint. The crash might be the same as this one: https://github.com/spring-projects/sts4/issues/804 and in turn this regression in WebKit: https://github.com/WebKit/WebKit/pull/2904. I'm not sure whether there's anything I could do to fix this other than waiting for the bug fix. How did you make it use the older webkit2gtk? Just installing webkit2gtk-5.0 2.38.5-2 does nothing for me.

I'll update to the latest Sigasi version right away.

bartbrosens commented on 2023-03-30 15:21 (UTC)

It appears the latest webkit2gtk (2.40.0-2) currently makes Sigasi hang/crash when attempting to dislpay a hover. Using an older version (webkit2gtk-5.0, 2.38.5-2) avoids the hang/crash and shows the hovers, although not as nicely as intended.

While Sigasi doesn't list Arch as a supported OS, I'm sharing this information here to help customers through this channel. ;)

btw: 5.1.1 has been released very recently.

@bundi78 thanks for the notice, I've added webkit2gtk (and a few others) as dependencies

Without an installed 'webkit2gtk' package, sigasi is not working (for me).
