Anyone seeing problems with gpg keys during installation? I did and the manual import from the new location posted in https://github.com/MrJoy/ssss/issues/12#issuecomment-737518420 helped.

I second switching to the fork.

I contacted the original author and asked them if they have any interest in backporting fixes (none of them are mine). The upstream domain was renewed in September 2019, so it's likely that they still have access to the email address.

Just for the record, if you are building it in windows wsl you might get a error for not been able to lock memory. To get around that, add the following in the build function after the cd command:

build(){
[...]
sed -i Makefile \
    -e "s/Wall/Wall -DNOMLOCK/g"
[...]
}

The goal is to edit Makefile to pass the -DNOMLOCK option when compiling ssss.c

Upstream was inactive for a long time nevertheless... Perhaps we should switch to this fork: https://github.com/MrJoy/ssss I will take a look when I have some spare time.

upstream link is dead here, there's a cached copy at https://web.archive.org/web/20160304015306/http://point-at-infinity.org/ssss/

Disowned. Sorry, haven't gotten around to this.

Voting for moving the man page as well... :D /usr/share/man/man1/ is the right place.

BoySka commented on 2013-07-15 11:39 (UTC)

the manpage should be installed in /usr/share/man/man1/ instead of /usr/share/man

It doesn't include the man page (http://point-at-infinity.org/ssss/ssss.1.html) but thanks for the package.
