You can run Stash either with system or user systemd service, whatever you like. If using a system service, adjust /etc/conf.d/stash for your needs if you want to do so.

Been almost a year without updates to this package. Stash is now on version 0.25.0. Any chance you'll get back to maintaining this package? I'd be willing to take over if not.

The PKGBUILD should specify backup=(etc/conf.d/${pkgname}), so that file isn't overwritten on upgrades.
