Current PKGBUILD is failing to build with "rpc/types.h: No such file or directory" error message. I managed to work-around it by exporting LDFLAGS and CFLAGS with 'tirpc' so it can find tirpc files.

The conflict with mesa-demos can be worked-around by renaming the binary. For example, I renamed it to "teapot-planner" so that it does not conflict with mesa-demos's /usr/bin/teapot

Also, fltk has to be added to makedepends, otherwise the build will not find it and optdepends will not work.

Still conflicts with mesa-demos. I cannot remove those since playonlinux has them as a dependecy :(

The fltk gui for teapot doesn't seem to work. I have fltk installed, but get the same warning like vnoel.

I am reasonably sure you can ignore that warning.
