Hi, I have added meson to makedepends for now. I still won't add you soname hack to the PKGBUILD. Why would you want to use tepl-git without using gedit-git ? If you think, it would be useful to run stable gedit with tepl-git, you can either grab the gedit PKGBUILD via asp and rebuild gedit against tepl-git or add your symbolic link by editing the PKGBUILD, like you did, I won't stop you from doing that. Just keep in mind, that there is a reason, that sonames are being bumped when a change introduces incompatibilities between binary interfaces and while your patch might work for now, this is not necessarily the case for the future.

I have added meson to dependencies and fixed the PKGBUILD to run stable gedit. Check if you can pull.
