So conflicts=("texlive-langother") should be added to this package.

Regards and thanks for maintaining!

@rellieberman You would have to ask at texlive-langother for certain, but yes that's how I understand it

Hi, I'm now getting errors when upgrading texlive-langother (this is only some of them):

texlive-langother: /usr/share/texmf-dist/fonts/afm/public/culmus/AharoniCLM-Bold.afm exists in filesystem (owned by texlive-culmus)
texlive-langother: /usr/share/texmf-dist/fonts/afm/public/culmus/AharoniCLM-BoldOblique.afm exists in filesystem (owned by texlive-culmus)
texlive-langother: /usr/share/texmf-dist/fonts/afm/public/culmus/AharoniCLM-Book.afm exists in filesystem (owned by texlive-culmus)

Seems like now texlive-langother provides some of culmus fonts and conflicts this package. Is this true, are all texlive-culmus fonts now supplied by texlive-langother?

i found a workarround for another package suffering the same issue (texlive-most-doc). Its definetly not the correct way to do, but it works:

sudo touch /var/lib/texmf/arch/installedpkgs/texlive-culmus_0.7.1-2.pkgs

@doronbehar I don't use texlive-localmanager but I dug a little into this issue.

If I understand correctly, the /var/lib/texmf/arch/installedpkgs/ should contain .pkgs files describing the original CTAN package source. This package doesn't come from CTAN, but texlive-localmanager seems to expect that every package that begins with texlive- (but not texlive-local* or texlive-bin) should have a corresponding file in /var/lib/texmf/arch/installedpkgs/. So either this package should not be named texlive-culmus or it is maybe too strict behaviour by texlive-localmanager.

I'll ask the texlive-localmanager dev

Using texlive-local-manager (ttlocalmgr), and running a simple sub-command like search gives me the following error:

Initializing ...
Cannot open /var/lib/texmf/arch/installedpkgs/texlive-culmus_0.7.1-2.pkgs

Any workaround?

texlive-culmus 0.7.1-2 did not build for me with a message that url cannot be an array. Fix - in the build script I removed the parenthesis from the url line, then it worked fine.

@ivan_p I compiled a test document with and without the 'culmus' package installed and the output is to my eye identical. My understanding is that 'culmus' installs both TTF and postscript fonts, while this package installs postscript fonts and TeX metrics. For any more detail you would have to ask upstream :)

Was doing maintenance on my packages now... The other package (culmus-latex) required 'culmus' package (currently maintained by me) for the actual fonts. I have not yet tested it, but does this package results in the same fonts being used in the compilation? I mean will the resulting PDF look the same with both packages?

This one actually works flawlessly, as opposed to the other one.
