Technetium1, Trilium makes explicit use of Electron version 16. Theoretically it is possible to run it just fine with versions >16 (and I personally tested that it seemingly works OOB), however it's not really supported and may cause new issues. It has recently been reported upstream that Electron 16 went EOL, however it seems like the project owner prefers to wait until Node 18 becomes the new LTS and it eventually gets picked up by Electron as well (I guess).

Given that I would like to stay as close as possible to upstream, and given that updating between Electron major versions is an important matter, I would prefer to stick to what upstream does.

Lately the electron16(-bin) package was moved to the AUR, despite being orphaned tho, after the TU maintaining it in the package repos resigned, so it should be possible to use it for the time being.

Please specify a minimum version of electron18, since that's the oldest supported version. 16 is end of life.

Hi Madic, I've tried to solve the problem by moving nodejs-lts-gallium from 'depends' to 'makedeps', I hope this solves your dependency issue. I believe you're using an AUR helper instead of building manually through makepkg, right? It seems that makepkg ensures that all dependencies listed in the 'global' side of the PKGBUILD are installed before proceeding, while an AUR helper probably looks only at those of the package you're specifically trying to build/install, perhaps that's why I didn't face this failure earlier while testing the new packaging. I'm sorry -.-

Package version 0.53.2-2 has a new dependency: nodejs-lts-gallium. But it's not listed so the installation without the installed dependency crashes
