This is a git package, please do not flag out of date unless building the package causes errors.

As this package shares the same name with github.com/google/material-design-icons, this should be renamed to distinguish, such as ttf-community-material-design-icons-git.

xorg-font-utils is no longer available in both Arch repositories and AUR. See https://www.archlinux.org/todo/removal-of-xorg-font-utils-transitional-package/

The current repository works, but the mappings for the webfont are different than before, presumably to avoid conflict with the desktop font. I'll consider switching, unless anyone disagrees.

This font seems to be broken as of tagged release v5.0.45, with the custom characters not being rendered. I altered the build script to install from the MaterialDesignIcons-Font repository instead. With this version the custom characters are working properly.

@zidhuss This package builds Templarian/MaterialDesign [1] which is very different of your package which builds google/material-design-icons [2].

The former contains many more icons created by the community (while also including the ones from Google).

The renamed package can be found on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf-material-icons-git/

Edit: Apologies, I didn't mean to comment this here

for the reasons Nodyn already mentioned, please consider renaming the package with a -git prefix.

Varakh commented on 2019-03-17 12:22 (UTC)

Yes, it should be renamed as those warnings are very annoying and shown on every update procedure.

Nodyn commented on 2019-02-15 02:05 (UTC)

The package tracks git://github.com/google/material-design-icons.git but doesn't have a -git prefix. This leads to some AUR wrappers (maybe all?) to show a warning.

A subset of these even refuse operation (because of the mismatched versions between the $pkgver featured in the PKGBUILD and the resulting package).

If possible at all, the package should be renamed, otherwise, bumping up the version number to r124.224895a86-1 should work for now.

@NBonparte I deleted my original comment as I fixed my problem, but since I see your reply now: You were right; the problem was on my end. I had another icon font installed that overlapped with this one! Thanks for your work in packaging this great icon font.
