I only checked this and other nscd related packages when glibc support for nscd was removed from official package, so this is not really a problem for me.

Thanks, I just reverted the commit that disables nscd. Very simple indeed. But now it becomes a hassle every time I update. How did you end up solving this, are you building your own every time there is an update?

I guess you could just try commenting out code related to disabling glibc's nscd.

Nope, the only way I found is to rebuild glibc yourself with nscd support. I also tried emailing upstream, but got no reply.

Fails at linkking
