Recently the high cpu usage with this package came back again! But with the latest update of the upower package it seems to be fixed. I Just installed it from the arch repository and haven't seen the upower process on top yet.

Version 1.90.4

Released: 2024-04-08 .. ... - Resolved high disk and CPU rate. (#256) ... ..

Can you please add =${pkgver} to the upower provides entry?

This way versioned dependencies on upower can be fulfilled by upower-nocritical.

Regards!

meson needs to be added to makedepends:

==> Starting build()...
/tmp/makepkg/yay/upower-nocritical/PKGBUILD: line 34: arch-meson: command not found

Regards and thanks for maintaining!

I had a problem with high cpu usage of the upower package in the arch repositories, the problem was my wireless mouse and keyboard constantly sent false battery discharge events. With upower-noncritical those events are now ignored and I don't see upower process on top anymore. Thanks.

Thank you very much :) It is a really good replacement for upower if you have issues with correct capacity readout from your battery (e.g. when you use a battery that is not exactly designed for your laptop).

Please keep it up to date as often as you can, slact :)
