If you are interested in a well integrated vcvrack (eventually in the [community] repository), built with system libraries from a verifiable source tarball, please do voice your concern in this issue and/or this pull request. It seems upstream only considers changing anything, as soon as enough customers complain.

@SunRed: oof, thanks! Actually we'll move to using git version tag with sha256sum as soon as Manjaro has the required pacman version in stable. Also the new vcvrack requires some fixes, working on that now: https://github.com/osam-cologne/archlinux-proaudio/pull/405

Oh. I see you are using the commit id, well 8c6f41b778b4bf8860b89b36d5503fd37924077f still refers to the old version 2.4.1 so it even builds the old version and not actually 2.5.0. You might want to use git+https://github.com/VCVRack/${_name}#tag=v${pkgver} instead as a source. Somehow it is using the _tag variable mistakenly, that can be replaced with the package version (and shouldn't point to a commit id anyway, there is commit for that). The pkgver function should be removed anyway as this is not a -git package and while we're at it, all dependencies should point to a specific commit id or tag for the same reason (and for reproducibility).

Please remove the pkgver function as it always for some reason updates the package version to the old 2.4.1. This happens in a clean chroot even so it's not due to my possibly polluted environment.

@taitep thanks for the report, in fact it is compatible but with vcvrack installed from AUR and depending on rtmidi 5 it will prevent an update and you'll need to 1. remove vcvrack 2. update packages (including rtmidi to 6) 3. install/clean rebuild vcvrack

To avoid that you can also use our binary repo which now has an updated version depending on rtmidi 6: https://arch.osamc.de/

Seems like it’s incompatible with rtaudio 6.0.

There seems to be no patch upstream yet. Please comment if you see one!

(Flagging out of date isn’t the right thing to do if there’s no actual update that can be made)

If you are a customer of VCV Rack Pro and use the VST/VST3/Clap plugins, note that they are NOT compatible with the free version of VCV Rack used by this AUR package. You'll need to use the version you download from vcvrack.com and copy the Rack2Pro directory detailed in the INSTALL.txt.
