@seqfault: I was a bit busy the past 2 weeks, but I've now forwarded your replies to people upstream so hopefully someone can help.

It might be worth opening an issue on gitlab (or asking on the discord server) so you can get more direct contact with them, as I'm quite clueless on what could go wrong here.

@Mckol: ram is not the problem, build fails on ~20/24 gigs allocated: https://paste.rs/oZbZp.txt. how much RAM do you have that it builds fine on your machine?

@Mckol: let me try again, this time checking on htop constantly. I have 24 gigs of RAM with zram of the same size, so I doubt it, but I'll check

@seqfault: could it be that you're running out of memory? Apparently that might be the issue with LTO enabled.

Interesting, it compiles for me regardless of that even in a clean chroot. I'm gonna see if this is a known issue upstream.
